Tanvi was born and brought up in the San Francisco Bay Area. She began her dance journey at the age of five under the tutelage of Guru Smt. Shirni Kanth, artist director of Mythri Natyalaya. She has undergone training in both Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi dance styles. In 2019, after 10 years of training, Tanvi had her debut solo Kuchipudi performance - Rangapravesam.

Tanvi also learns Carnatic music. She was initiated into singing at the age of five in Chinmaya Mission San Jose’s (CMSJ’s) Swaranjali program, under the guidance of Smt. Prema Sriram.   She started formal training in Carnatic music under the guidance of Smt. Jayanthi Umesh, Director of Mahatee Music Academy and later from Smt. Brinda Manikavasakan of Chennai.

Tanvi can play several instruments. She plays acoustic guitar. As a part of middle school and high school band and orchestra programs, she has played baritone euphonium and tenor saxophone. She holds a first degree black-belt in Taekwondo and loves playing basketball. In high school she was part of the Varsity basketball team for Cupertino High School.

Tanvi is currently pursuing a BS in Chemical Engineering at UCSB where she is a part of dance team, Taara.
